Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
Though the spectacle is impressive when watching from home, if you’re in NYC for the holiday season kick-off, you shouldn’t miss the opportunity to see the real deal. Early risers start camping out at the parade’s beginning, along the west side of Central Park, around 6am. The procession reaches 6th avenue in Midtown — just blocks from Hotel 48LEX — around 9:30. No tickets or reserved spaces are available, so stake out your ground as early as possible for the best view. For some behind-the-scenes peeks, check out the astounding balloon inflation the day before, around the Museum of Natural History.
